ROBERT J. SPITZER, S.J., Ph.D.
Founder

Robert J. Spitzer, S.J., Ph.D., wears many hats. He is a Jesuit priest, the president of Gonzaga University, an author, speaker, teacher, and a participant in community affairs. Fr. Spitzer averages 130 major business and public presentations per year, including: Tony Blair's Cabinet in London, officials of the Russian Orthodox Church, leaders of both sides of the Northern Ireland conflict, and to members of the current leadership in Costa Rica.

With his previous experience as Professor of Business Ethics and Director of the Institute of Professional Ethics at Seattle University, he has worked in an advisory role with over 300 companies such as Boeing, Toyota, Costco, and Caterpillar.

He has a long-standing commitment to the pro-life movement. At Georgetown University, he founded University Faculty for Life. He has been a board member of Human Life of Washington since 1990. He founded the Center for Life Principles in 1993, and established its curriculum in the book, Healing the Culture: A Commonsense Philosophy of Happiness, Freedom, and the Life Issues (San Francisco: Ignatius Press, 2000).

DAN KENNEDY
CEO

As the CEO of Human Life of Washington, Dan Kennedy leads the Center for Life

Principles in its vision for the future. He couples an extensive business and organizational background with a long record of interest and involvement in the life issues. He volunteered with Michigan Right to Life, and served as the President of Spokane Right to Life for thirteen years before accepting the position of CEO with Human Life of Washington.

He served for fourteen years as general manager of an international company in Spokane, Washington. He is experienced in relating to a variety of churches, schools, and organizations.

SHANELLE PIERCE
Resource Development

Shanelle Pierce manages Resource Development. She is our web master, and she also writes and graphically designs our educational resources.

She served as a peer counselor at the Pregnancy Resource Center of Snohomish County, and interned at World Vision and the Family Support Center of Olympia. She received her BA from Saint Martin’s College, where she was Student Body President and Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper.

MARY JO EICK
Administrative Assistant

Mary Jo Eick serves as the Administrative Assistant for the Center for Life Principles. She has a broad background in both customer service and management support, and received her business education from the University of Detroit. She has served as a volunteer for Michigan Right to Life and Human Life of Washington. Her seasoned professionalism provides invaluable input to our team as we continue the successful growth of the Center.
